Ingredients :
Cookies :
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup sour cream
Frosting :
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
¼ cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Food coloring and sprinkles (optional)
Instructions :
1. Preheat Oven :
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Make the Dough :
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix until combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
3. Bake the Cookies :
Roll the dough into 1½-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheets. Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are soft. Let cool completely.
4. Make the Frosting :
In a bowl, beat butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, beating until fluffy.
Add food coloring if desired.
5. Decorate and Serve :
Frost the cooled cookies and add sprinkles if desired. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
